Diving into the story. The making of Diving: Wendy’s story.

The entire process of Diving’s first configuration (Wendy’s story, the live theatre experience) was filmed, over a number of weeks, by a professional documenter and then edited down into the short 11-minute film above called The Making of Diving. This filming of the document covered the initial auditions for actors, the subsequent rehearsals, and the final live performance, on stage, at the Blue Elephant Theatre in South London on 6 December 2015. Additionally, over the same period and later, the documenter conducted and filmed interviews with the director and all members of the cast and crew, exploring their thoughts and experiences of taking part in the live performance; the live streaming; live editing; and the live recording of the stage performance. The making of Diving film is both an edited version of these interviews with the director, actors, and film crew – as well as film extracts of the production process and final live stage performance.  The film explores both the concepts behind the work and the personal experiences and reflections of those involved in the collaboration.
